Some of you guys may have noticed that I reached 100 Bloglovin’ followers last Saturday. How mad is that! Thank you everyone who follows me and reads my posts, it really means a lot. That in mind I thought I would host a giveaway of sorts to celebrate this, the information and details of this will be at the end of this post!
However, today I thought I would share with you 4 quotes that I’ve come to love quite a lot.
1. ‘The greatest risk any of us will take, is to be seen as we are.’ - Cinderella 2015
I really love how this simply portrays our vulnerability as human beings. We may take on various facades, but in the end we are ourselves and can hide nothing. That’s true vulnerability in my eyes.
2. ‘I don’t want other people to decide who I am. I want to decide that for myself.’ - Emma Watson
This one should speak for itself. We all want to be individual, we are our own people after all, and we shouldn’t let other people’s opinions dictate what we end up doing with our lives. To me this means: do what you want to do and love doing and become the person you want to be. And I think that’s pretty important.
3. ‘Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground.’ - Teddy Roosevelt
The stars have always fascinated me. I am simply awestruck whenever I look at them on a cloudless night and they inspire me almost constantly. I feel that it’s very important to keep your head (or eyes, as Roosevelt says) in the stars and to never turn something down as you never know what’s possible.
4. ‘And sometimes I have kept my feelings to myself, because I could fine no language to describe them in.’ - Jane Austen
I seriously identify with this quote, and I hope other people too. It’s such an amazingly odd feeling when you feel something that cannot be put into words - whether that’s a state of mind or some idea that you can’t quite fathom. There are so many things that I think and feel yet have never been able to put into words. And you know what? There are somethings that don’t need to be put into words, and I’m okay with leaving them unsaid.
Okay, so the giveaway. It isn’t going to be a typical giveaway as I don’t have the funds at the moment.
Instead I thought that I would share the opening two chapters of my novel-in-progress and one other bit of writing that hasn’t been shared before. I haven’t decided on what that piece of writing will be but it’ll be in there. If this sounds interesting to you please enter!
To enter you will have to follow me on Bloglovin’ (please don’t unfollow afterwards, it’ll make me sad!) and then leave a comment on this post telling me what your favourite quote is and why!
I will be announcing the winner on my Twitter account, so it would probably be useful for you to follow me there if you are going enter, although it’s not a requirement for the competition. The giveaway will end on Friday 1st April, so you’ve got plenty of time! Make sure to comment below, otherwise you won't be counted.
Thank you everyone again, I look forward to reading your favourite quotes!
